Take a Walk with Me

I try to walk every day. Scratch that. I manage to make myself walk a couple of days a week. It’s a boring activity that gets me nowhere. I mean, maybe if I had somewhere to go. But anyway. I walk around our property and try to amuse myself along the way. These are a few of the sights that I enjoy. A couple of photos are from earlier in the summer, but little has changed. I hope you enjoy them, too.

Lantana in one of the flower beds near the house.
Nandina in the same flower bed.
A few more lantana from another bed, which needs serious weeding.
The area we call “the forest” because there are so many trees.
And where there are trees, there are ankle-deep leaves.
One of the seven or eight live oaks in the yard.
The row of cypress dress in fall colors.
I’ve forgotten the name of this shrub.
Always a beautiful sky and sunset!
A few potted plants that love the humidity.
Especially this airplane plant.
Birdhouses and feeders that Richard makes, so lots of birds and squirrels.
The two catabala trees that came from my parents old home place. They are 25 years old now and still give the best shade.
A view of the new patio.
An occasional visitor and the reason to keep a close eye always.
A real bird nest complete with egg that I found in the spring.
And finally, camellias that began blooming in November.

As always, thanks for visiting.

  1. No pictures showing, I’m afraid, but I have made good use of google to find out what your plants look like so now I am better informed than before.
