It’s been 3 weeks since Richard’s hip replacement surgery. I haven’t been in the sewing room much, but I have been quite the movie buff, a physical therapist tech, a chauffeur, chief cook and bottle-washer, and worn a few other hats, though I can’t remember them now.
My poor fella has been in lots of pain. When he agrees to pain meds it’s one of those top-notch aches that a person can’t breathe through. Thankfully, Tylenol “will do for now” is his standard answer.
I have stolen minutes in the sewing room, especially this past week. I loaded the pink and green improv BoM quilt on the longarm. I decided to go with feathers everywhere. To fill in small spaces, I toss in an easy improvisational flower. I love how fast feathers and flowers are. Plus, they are very feminine, which works with the quilt colors.
So life is slowly moving along. I’m hopeful I’ll see him turn the corner in another week. His physical therapist says he’s progressing well, and I do see it. But Rich can be a cantankerous old man at times. Convincing him that things are getting better, albeit slowly, takes a great deal of effort. Meanwhile, I’m not as spoiled as I like to be. I’m sure it will get better, though. I just have to hold on to all the little advancements. And quilt. Hold on the moments of quilting that I do manage.
Here are all the blocks in order in case you missed one. Enjoy!
