Spring in Louisiana can come and go surprising quickly. A few weeks ago we were freezing, literally. Morning lows were in the low 30s. This week we’re easily hitting a sweltering 80 by the afternoon.
I was shivering through gloomy, cold lunch duties so the kids could play outside…in sweatshirts and long pants. A fierce game of basketball or football can keep a body warm. Just weeks later the same duty spot, a park bench just outside the cafeteria, was THE place to catch a little vitamin C. I’d sun myself on the bench like a turtle on a log. And hated to get up.
That bench in the sun? It’s hot! There’s no noon shade whatsoever. I get to enjoy the sunshine…for three days of the year.
