I hope your week is moving along nicely and that you are taking time for yourself by enjoying some stitching or crafting. Whatever it is that helps you to slow down and enjoy life. Also, don’t forget to exercise and get enough sleep! It can make a huge difference in how we handle the stresses of life. Care for yourself, and you can love the important people in your life.
I generally walk on the treadmill (while watching funny videos or comedians), and that’s it, but I fall often. Plus, I occasionally hear my feet drag on the treadmill. Now, I work on lifting my feet while on the treadmill, but I read this article that convinced me to work differently to strengthen my muscles. Physical therapy, here I come.

Anyhoo, I’m here to write about these two girls and their hoodies. They found a TicToc video in which a teen “boogies” her hoodie up. My two girls, Marley and Sophie, decided it would be a great idea to give it a go. Saturday, they bought matching hoodies and came here with fabric glue, iron-on letters, and hoodies. That’s it. The rest of their shopping spree, you understand, happened in DeeDee’s Studio, where they chose fabrics and lace. Yes, lace. And, check out the pink color. They laughed, saying it’s “grandma.”

They needed scraps. What they pulled was yardage. Sure, it was difficult to let them waste fabric, but I managed. I even offered bridal lace and an antique doily. Apparently, Sophie has an old soul because she used both.

The girls pinned the pieces down and then glued them. Later, after everything was dry, I sewed them down. The glue holds well, but it takes too much, which could make the shirts stiff and uncomfortable. Instead, we put drops of glue–mostly so the girls were more invested–but it also helped me sew the pieces down.

In the end, the girls put embellishments on the sleeves (iron-on patches), the chest, the pocket edges, and the hoodie fronts. I was not available to return the shirts to the girls, but I saw Marley wearing hers on Sunday, Then today, Sophie waved and mouthed “thank you” to me when I went through the school pickup line. Considering that the girls are tee I’ll call that a win!
And finally, the flimsy I finished yesterday is now on the longarm! Yay!
