A Fast 4-Patch–Improv

Improv Challenge: Make a wonky four‑patch

  1. Grab four scraps — any colors, any sizes.
  2. Sew two together. Don’t trim.
  3. Sew the other two together. Still don’t trim.
  4. Now trim each pair however you like. Straight edges, angled edges… anything goes.
  5. Sew the pairs together to make a four‑patch.
  6. Press only if you feel like it.
  7. Hold it up and admire the charm in the mismatched corners.

That’s it. No rules, no measuring, no stress — just a tiny moment of creative freedom.

If you try it, I’d love to hear how it felt.
