I hope you went online and enjoyed the Quilters Paradise Summit (QPS). I had the pleasure of watching every session. I truly enjoyed them. Some were a bit too beginner for me, but even so, I was able to learn some things that I can use. I taught speech for a few years, so it’s fun to watch from that teacher point of view.
Let’s just get the bad news out of the way. The audio on my session was really hard to sit through. The QPS tech team did eventually correct it. Then I went through all of the comments and left notes that it was fixed. Some of the participants went back and watched the video, Those people seemed to enjoy the session. Thankfully.
Despite the disappointing and truly mean comments, I got lots of positive ones. I’ll share a couple of those.
From Diana: excellent video this is my second time watching, so happy they were able to improve the sound. great instruction. I plan on making some bags for gifts (I have plenty of scraps).
From Barbara: Don’t worry about it. I am good [watching] with close-captioned. I really wanted to see this session because my sewing group makes quilts for the local hospital. We get lots of donations and everyone has way too much fabric, so I was hoping this session would show an easy way for all of us to use up our scraps – and it DOES! Thank you!
From Patricia: The topic was great and I had been looking forward to the presentation all week. It was a bit disappointing. Like others, I had problems with the sound. I ended up turning off the audio and used closed caption, as suggested by someone below. (The CC translation was hilarious, but I got the gist of the presentation). Might be difficult for new quilters to understand, but useful if you hung in there.
From Elizabeth: Was notified that the sound was fixed. Thank you for your presentation. I love how easy chain piecing can be. Completing all the work of one step before moving on to the next step seems faster than doing all the steps for each section of a project.
From Jamie: beautiful bags, I like how you just put the fabrics together and not over thinking it.

And from Projekt (who included a photo of her new bag): Mary, thanks for the inspiration – I watched the session in the morning and quick bag project was ready in the afternoon
There were others. In fact, one person sent me an email. I have to tell you, the comments were wonderful (once the audio was fixed) but that she took the extra time to email. If ever you want to tell a presenter that you especially liked the presentation, comment on their blog and add a photo of your project. Really, it’s the best!
And so, I’ll close with a link to the QPS group page and this post when I wrote a preview of the Summit.
