There’s a quick story about how this book came to be. After retiring and publishing my first novel, This World So Fierce, I decided to teach for a year at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Cottonport. (Self-publishing comes with a pricey bill.) My principal allowed me to use This World So Fierce in the curriculum for my 8th grade class. They loved the story!

I was happy to give an author’s perspective, and they journaled about their thoughts, even when I didn’t require it. At the end, they begged me to write a sequel. Every time since, when I’ve met one of those students, they have asked “Did you write a sequel yet.” Now, finally, I can answer with a resounding yes, and their excitement fills my heart. But that’s not all, several adult readers have asked for a sequel as well. And so, A World Alone has arrived.

Now, some adults in my life insist that I turn the story into a series. Hence, the World Series was born. Book 3 is whirling around in my brain, more on that later.
