That’s right! I’m teaching at a retreat in Mamou on August 2nd. Retreat guests arrive on the 1st and depart on the 3rd, so there will be time for free sewing, which everyone appreciates. Myself included.
The first class is “Almost in Church,” my stained glass technique. I’ll have kits cut out and available for students so we don’t have to spend precious retreat time cutting fabric.
The second class is “Grow Your Garden,” my improv applique class, and it includes the pattern. I begin this class with a pattern to show how to build flowers and to show how using the same pattern can create different flowers. Then I facilitate the transition to students creating their own patterns using the same concepts. It’s lovely seeing how different and interesting the designs become as students build their tops.
If, by chance, you’re interested, call the Hotel Cazan at (337) 468-5100 and make reservations. One payment of $599 takes care of the hotel, classes, and pattern/kit. You’ll also be able to attend a curated trunk show of my quilts. And we’ll take you to the world-renowned Fred’s Lounge to hear Cajun music.
The hotel is a quirky boutique hotel in the heart of Acadiana, less than an hour to Lafayette. I expect we’ll have a fabulous retreat. You should join me!
