One House Row Complete!

The Cotton Quilters’ Guild asked for a BOM! Yes, and in no time, I was on it. Meetings were getting rather short, but I couldn’t figure out what was missing. It’s the block of the month thing! Of course, I agreed, noting that the resulting quilt would not be finished for the quilt show on September 27th.

We have a GroupMe account that includes almost everyone, so after thinking about what to do, I suggested that we make house blocks. I’ve been wanting to make some kind of house quilt, and this seemed the best opportunity. My lovely friends agreed.
Since, several people asked for 12″ blocks, I made some “Frankenpaper” to get a sheet large enough and had a blast drafting a house and tree. You know what? This block building business requires math. And lots of it. After I mathed the block to death (likely mine), I had Richard look at my numbers. The very first number was wrong! I mean, come on! He was finally satisfied, I typed up the directions, and the printer would not work. What a mess! That did not get cleaned up until I found someone to help. Thankfully, she printed everything so we could make copies.

But “comme ça va” (as it goes) there are still errors. I’ve sent GroupMe notes to make corrections, and others are pitching with their beta testing, and we’re getting by. But the next block will come from someone else. I’ve already started looking online! I’ll solve any 12″ block issues with trees and shrubs, sky, grass. Anything that will fill the 12″ without my having to math.
