Color Inspiration Boards: a new toy

Some time ago, I discovered that it’s possible to create a collage of inspirational pictures and words on Pinterest. I played around a bit to figure it out and created a messy, overdone, ugly collage. It’s been deleted. Sorry. Just believe the ugly truth.

Anyhoo, I’ve gone back to that collage thingy because I just haven’t felt much like sewing. I know. What’s wrong with Mary? She must be awfully sick. But she’s not. She has what we French call le padresse, which means laziness. I just don’t want to do. Anything. Not even play on my phone. Well, I can’t play games on any of my devices because I gave that up for Lent. It’s going well and there are fewer than two weeks of Lent left.

I thought this collage idea might inspire me. I started out using quilts as my inspiration. But my quilts don’t have a block, one block. They are a riot of blocks and color, even when I try to contain the colors to only a few. That’s my whole world, though, a riot of everything. Nothing seems to have rules anymore.

This last one was inspired by the photo of three of my sisters and me. Courtney is in the nursing home, so I met with Angie and Lee to visit her for their Mardi Gras party. I’m not sure who is in charge of programs now, but she does an awesome job. Every holiday and birthday is celebrated, and family members are always invited to show up. I try to visit Cookie (her childhood nickname) relatively often but, remember there are no rules in my world, so I show up at any crazy hour I want to. I see staff members, who are extremely personable and helpful, every time I go. They recognize Ms. Courtney’s sisters right away and I caught up with a few former students. Always fun.
I hope you are preparing for Easter Week. It’s a big event for us. Of course, the kids come for at least one meal, and Richard and I try to get to all of the services between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. If you are Christian, you are especially blessed! Easter could be my next inspiration board.
