20 Shares from CQG Friends

The Cotton Quilters met on Monday. Show and Share ideas can run rampant because we’re becoming a big crowd. We started the morning with a small project: making key wristbands. Blandina, one of our quiet, demure members, taught the project. (I learned that I definitely need to practice being a quiet student.)

Anyway, lots of participation means we had quite a few wristlets in about an hour. About 15 people participated, a number that is rising. It has something to do with the new president. However, she doesn’t take “no” for an answer. Most of the time, when no one would step up, I’d do what needed to be done. I’m a doer and lead by example. But adults are different than teens. They know how to avoid eye contact. Yeah, but kids usually give in, do the thing, then are shocked and proud when they succeed. I love that about kids. You know, they want to succeed; someone just has to show them how.
Oops, I digress. Back to the Show and Share. This month we had all variety of finishes beyond quilts. It’s always interesting to see what someone has created. Let’s start with the garments my friend made. The are adorable! I found myself wishing I had a little grandie to wear these!
Pam attends festivals and sells these darling little dresses in her booths.

A couple of our guild members make purses, bags, wallets, and about anything else besides quilts. Often, I find myself wondering what they do with all of these bags. Though they give many away, the number of bags they churn out is still amazing.
The inside of a needle book made from a hot pad. Not surprising, we’re supposed to make our own needle book from hot pads Sheil gave us.
Sheila loves chickens, her studio is called the Hen House, so a rooster bag is no surprise to us.

A couple of works in progress. One-inch yoyos (left) and one-inch hexies (right).

And now, the quilt shares!

A couple of shared flimsies….
Three, actually.

Mrs. Mary Coco's share was this darling koala wall hanging for her granddaughter, who obviously loves koala.

Mary's house quilt from the 2025 CQG block of the month. Not bound here, but it is now. I simply need to add the label and will then write a post about it.
My share was my house quilt from the 2025 CQG block of the month. (Not bound here, but it is now. Of course, I need to add the label and snap photos. Then, maybe, I’ll then write a post about it.)
